Mushy Mood ("the App") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal information.
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and disclose information when you use the Mushy Mood mobile app and related services.

By using Mushy Mood, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.
If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the Services.

1. Information We Collect

We collect two types of information: information you provide and information collected automatically.

1.1 Information You Provide

Mood & activity entries — daily mood ratings, text journal entries, uploaded or captured photos, or art imports.
Account details — if required, such as email (e.g. for subscriptions or support).
Payment information — handled by RevenueCat. We only receive subscription status (active/expired/plan type), never raw credit card data.
Communications — emails, support requests, or feedback you send us.

1.2 Information Collected Automatically

Analytics / usage data — collected via PostHog (e.g. feature usage, app events, crash logs).
Device information — device type, OS version, language, and app version.
Log data — error logs, timestamps, and performance data.

We configure analytics to use anonymised or pseudonymised identifiers whenever possible.

2. How We Use Information

We use your information to:

Provide and improve the Mushy Mood app and features.
Support subscriptions and account functionality.
Monitor stability, troubleshoot issues, and improve performance.
Communicate service notices, updates, or reminders.
Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.

We do not sell your data, and we do not use your content (writing, photos, art) for targeted advertising.

3. Third-Party Services

Mushy Mood relies on trusted third-party services:

RevenueCat — manages in-app purchases and subscriptions.
PostHog — provides anonymised analytics to understand app usage.
Apple iCloud (SwiftData) — stores your journal entries and metadata in your personal iCloud account.
System APIs — when you choose to take a photo or import a file, Mushy Mood uses Apple's camera and photo APIs.

We share the minimum data necessary with these providers and require them to protect your information.

4. Data Storage & Security

Storage — Your journal entries are stored in iCloud; analytics and subscription data are stored with PostHog and RevenueCat.
Security — We use encryption, access controls, and other safeguards. However, no system is completely secure.
Retention — We keep data only as long as needed to provide the Services or as required by law. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data (with some backup retention). Anonymised analytics may be kept longer.

5. Sharing & Disclosure

We will never sell your personal information. We may share data:

With service providers (e.g. RevenueCat, PostHog) under confidentiality obligations.
To comply with laws or legal processes.
To protect our rights, property, or safety.
In connection with a business transfer (e.g. merger or acquisition).
With your consent or direction.

6. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to:

Access or correct your data.
Delete your account and personal data.
Opt out of certain analytics tracking.
Withdraw consent where applicable.
Request a copy of your data in portable format.

Mushy Mood is not intended for children under 16.
